Module 6: Education
Part 1: Introduction to Education
This part begins with a reminder that our Black students and students of other marginalized populations matter. The prior modules have explored race with a focus on building understanding and moving to action. The modules have explored many layers of and responses to race and racism. Reflection questions and some resources have brought attention to connecting the learning to looking at and evaluating the environments, policies, and practices that create our classrooms. If we believe that Black lives matter, we need to be willing to commit to antiracist work in our lives and classrooms. The parts of this module will look at application of racism and antiracism to improving our classrooms for students of color and, in the process, all students.
