Module 5: Responses to Race
Part 1: Introduction to responses to race
An understanding (or lack of understanding) of race and identity can lead to a variety of responses. Some responses may be tied to certain levels of racial identity development, to exposure to racial issues and ideas, or to levels of commitment to action. This module explores some common responses to race. While these ideas are presented as separate parts of the module, an individual may fluctuate between responses depending on context. It is important to understand these responses in order to change our own behaviors and to respond to other people.
